It was in the year 1997 a definite TNAOI body was born as a brainchild of Prof. Shahul Hameed and Dr. Mohan Kameswaran in the midst of the skeletal representation of the entire state that were keen on forming a forum at Yercaud TNAOICON. To this cause, Dr. Sadasivan, Dr. Krishnakumar, Dr. Anandakumar, Dr. Srinivasa Varma and I (Dr. Jacinth) as founder members were assigned to nurture and help the association grow. Dr. Dwaraknath of Hyderabad, was helpful in formatting the bye-laws as per AOI norms. Ultimately TNAOI was brought into existence to offer representation of ENT fraternity of every nook and corner of the state of Tamilnadu and dispel the misconception that Madras chapter of AOI was the nucleus of TNAOI. TNAOI was registered under Tamilnadu Societies Registration Act 27 of the year 1975 under No. 335 of 2002 on second day of September 2002. Dr. Shahul Hameed was the founder President, Late Dr. Sadasivan was the founder Secretary, Dr. Anand Kumar was the founder Treasurer.
